TWiRT 169 - Glynn Walden on AM's Future

It’s become AM Radio fighting the following: Hostile RF Noise from dozens of devices in every home, overcrowding of the AM band in the name of “serving communities”, terrible quality from AM radio makers who have forgotten or ignored how to make usable radios, and continued encroachment from other content services. How can AM radio survive? Glynn Walden, SVP-Engineering for CBS Radio, says it cannot survive. And incremental improvement will only prolong the death spiral. What to do? Blow it up – sort of.
